FRIDAY APRIL 24
  1. We will NOT be meeting today.
  2. Complete this Google Form for attendance.
  3. Today will be a make-up day! Please use this class time to check Powerschool, and be sure to EMAIL ME if you complete ANY late or missing work as I will not know otherwise and your grade will stay a zero. I am also available if you’d like to request a meeting!
  4. Thank you class for the great feedback! Have a GREAT Spring break. You can expect some changes after the break such as:
  5. You will go to Classwork on Google Classroom for all assignments, no more blog! 
  6. We will plan to meet on Mondays as a whole class, with Wednesday being an optional “french café” come if you want to share a snack and speak en français!
  7. Fridays will be a make-up day, or a day to privately Meet with Madame if needed.
  8. We will continue with music (but may break it up over the week with a “song of the week”) instead of all in one day.
  9. I will offer an alternative activity to Fluency Matters quizzes!
  10. Fluency Matters quizzes may be offered for extra credit, stay tuned.

  3. Come to our google meeting at 11:30AM to listen to Madame read aloud chapter 5 of our book (if you cannot make this meeting be sure to read chapter 5 on Fluency Matters).

  5. Complete the google classroom assignment, chapter 5 listening. Turn in the Google document with your typed out paragraph when done.



FRIDAY APRIL 17

  2. We will not be meeting today :( , as you will be working on your cultural comparison on Google Classroom. Click HERE as I explained this assignment to the class in our meeting yesterday. This is worth 50 points! 



  3. Please review the presentations above. Then read the directions carefully on the google classroom assignment, and be sure to turn in when done. Remember you are taking (3) things you learned about Quebec, and comparing them to here (US). We may do similar things, have similar products and similar mindsets...or not! These are your opinions, and back them up with facts you learned from your classmates, or in our unit through other resources. I look forward to seeing your writings in English about this subject (but please plug in French where you can too!)
  4. Also, I am missing some of your Quebec presentations. Make sure to email me at jgarry@govwentworth.k12.nh.us to let me know you have turned it in so that I can grade it.

  2. C’est Musique Mercredi🎵! Please complete the “Musique Mercredi” assignment on Google Classroom. You will watch a video and then complete a worksheet about it. This song has the word "volé" (voler) from our book. This verb can mean to fly or steal (which is the case with Brandon Brown and in this song).
  3. Finish your slideshow presentations! Remember to use the checklist on this document, Quebec research project. Use French wherever you can, English is okay too. Remember to turn in when done.

  1. Begin research on the Quebec topic you chose on Friday. If you did not complete the form, please choose a topic from this Quebec Research Project. This presentation will be due on WEDNESDAY.

  2. Reminder:  Today is a “Catch up day!” We will NOT be meeting, but in order to count for attendance, you need to complete the form on Google Classroom selecting your Quebec Research Project topics. You will be given class time to work on this next week!
    1. Check Powerschool for any missing work/zeroes.
    2. Email Madame when you complete any missing work to let me know otherwise I do not know it is done.
    3. I am available if you'd like to "Google Meet" to discuss anything else (missing work, complete a speaking assessment, logging in to Fluency Matters, etc.)

MONDAY APRIL 6
  1. I sent out a link to Fluency Matters for our next book we will be reading in class. Please check your email to make sure you received it (you may need to check your Spam folder). Please email me if you do not have it, you will need this to access the copy of the e-book and activities.

    2.  Madame will read aloud chapitre 1, Brandon Brown veut un chien.
    3. Introduce our mini cultural unit on Québec!  
    4. Log on to Fluency Matters, click on Profile and complete the first activity only for chapitre 1. Make sure to listen to the audio book for chapter one if you were not present at the meeting today.
    5. Go to google classroom and watch a short video about Quebec in French; then answer the questions best you can. This is interpretive listening, you will not understand all that you hear, so you will need to watch the images in the video closely. Turn in when done.
    6. Make sure you have turned in your test from FRIDAY, I am missing a few of these and some are incomplete (check comments on the document and Powerschool or email me with questions, merci!)

When remote learning begins, based on FRIDAY MARCH 20, you will begin working below (SCROLL DOWN). I will continue to use Blogger as a home base, and link to websites from here. I will also be using Google classroom for assignments and most likely videos of myself for instruction. We are in the process of increasing bandwidth at my home, so unfortunately for now I am limited with using Google Meet as I have 3 children also on line at home. While this is not the best scenario for language learning (I'm really going to miss our daily conversations:) I know we can do the best we can, and that is all I ask of you.


I have signed you up for an e-course for a book we will be starting soon called, Brandon Brown dit la verité (Brandon Brown tells the truth). You should be receiving an email about how to access this resource. Please do not complete any activities yet. I am just setting this up and learning too as I go! This website will allow you to have a digital access to our next book which will also allow for audio reading and activities. We will talk more during Google Meet tomorrow, also I will be giving you instructions here daily!




DAY 1 FRIDAY MARCH 20

Was SO good to see all of you today on Google Meet!  If you couldn't make it (or if you didn't get the link) let me know and I will make sure you have it for MONDAY. We are planning to meet everyday at 11:30 for a "Question du jour!" (Question of the day!)



1. Review this presentation "Qu'est-ce que tu aimes?" : Click on this link to hear Madame presenting the video. If you cannot get the video, just review the presentation above on your own.

2. Complete vocab list 2 in your cahier on pages 4-5. If you do not have your cahier, click here for a copy of the list. You can copy the words on a separate piece of paper and look up their translations on the Quizlet tab on the blog. 

3. Turn to the table on cahier page 28. If you need this table click HERE and scroll down to page 6.  Last time we met I asked you to answer column #1 in the table with a Oui or Non if you liked doing the activities listed. Now I'd like you to ask a family member or friend if they like doing those activities. It is okay to use ENGLISH! Simply write OUI or NON in column 2.

4.  Next on the agenda will be music with our Manie Musicale 2020! The first day will be devoted to filling out your bracket. Click here for a video tutorial done by Madame of how to fill out your bracket. Then find your bracket to fill in on Google Classroom, click on Google Classroom and use this classroom code: kyhar5q. Watch about 1-2 minutes of each video on the playlist HERE. Turn in on google classroom after you have filled in all of the squares.

    • Using the OWI pictures you drew for the speaking summary on Friday, or the classroom posters on the wall, take turns with a partner telling the story in French.  (10 minutes).
    • Grab a chromebook and review the new vocabulary list from the unit, “Mon année scolaire vocab 1” on the Quizlet tab. (20 minutes)
    • Continue the movie L’age de glace (this class already started it on Friday).  Check with students to see where we left off and resume from there until the end of class.
